Seminar “Raising awareness of government agencies in the field of natural gas replacement by biomass”
Seminar “Raising awareness of government agencies in the field of natural gas replacement by biomass” was held on February 18, 2015 by Renawable Energy Agency in the framework of the project “Promotion of Natural Gas Substitution with Biomass in Heat Energy Production” and a joint action plan with State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.
The project “Promotion of Natural Gas Substitution with Biomass in Heat Energy Production” funded by Municipal Energy Reform of Ukraine (MER) Project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Implementation of the Project was made possible through support from the American People provided through USAID.
The seminar was attended by government representatives (State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, NKREKP, Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine), specialists of NGO “REA”, representatives of the USAID-MERP, union of power engineers and electricians of Ukraine and others.
The purpose of the seminar was the consideration of existing regulations and draft documents aimed at encouraging the replacement of natural gas by alternative fuels that have been adopted/developed during 2014, analysis of their action mechanisms, discussion of the advantages and disadvantages. Documents were developed by State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and experts’ of Renewable Energy Agency.
