Results of International Project Bioenergy for Business (B4B)

In 2017, members of the project consortium led by Austrian Energy Agency are completing the international project «Bioenergy for Business» (В4В). The Horizon 2020 project B4B aims at supporting and promoting the (partial) substitution of fossil fuels (such as coal, oil, gas) used for heating with available bioenergy sources (such as by-products of the wood-based industry, forest biomass, pellets, straw and other agricultural biomass products) in the project partners’ countries and beyond.

ASET Project – Advocate for Sustainable Energy Transition in Armenia - Belarus - Macedonia - Serbia - Ukraine

The 1-year project "Strengthening Civil Society to Advocate for Sustainable Energy Transition" in short ASET Project has started at the end of August 2016 and finishes in October 2017.

The Project is an NGO Cooperation across the INFORSE-Europe network in 5 Eastern European countries: Armenia, Belarus, Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine and Denmark.

The overall development objective of the Project is the transition of the 5 project countries, and ultimately the region to sustainable energy in a way that eliminates energy poverty and reduces poverty in general via creation of local jobs in energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The Project will facilitate to develop and promote sustainable energy strategies that are supported by a group of civil society organizations and that are influencing the official energy strategies or plans. This influence is either local or national, depending on the country.

The Horizon 2020 project Bioenergy4Business (B4B)

There is a new project that gives new opportunities for bioenergy development in Ukraine. Bioenergy4Business is a project funded by the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme of the European Union. Bioenergy4Business involves partners from twelve EU Member States and Ukraine.

Constituent Assembly of Bioenergy Association of Ukraine

Representatives of REA participated in the Constituent Assembly of Bioenergy Association of Ukraine held February 25th, 2013. In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Board, Georgiy Geletukha outlined the prerequisites for establishment of the Association and presented the results of the previous work of the Initiative working group.

The agenda of the UABio’s Constituent Assembly:

  • Establishment (creation) of the Association specifying the objective(s) of its activity, as well as registration of the Association in the form of a public union.
  • Adoption of the full name and acronym of the Association.
  • Approval of the Charter of the Association.
  • Selection and approval of the Chairman of the Board, the Board, Supervisory Board, the Auditing Committee.
  • Making decision on the person(s) who has the right to represent the Association in legal relations with the government bodies and others, and to act on behalf of the Association without authority.
  • Making decision on the person(s) who has the right to represent the Association to carry out registration procedures.

According to results of the Constituent Assembly Mr. Yuri Matveev, Deputy head of public organization «Renewable Energy Agency», was elected a Board Member of UABio.

Workshop "Landfill gas collection and utilization at Ukrainian MSW landfills: first results, problems and perspectives”

On September 21, 2011  within 7th International Conference on Biomass for Energy there was held a Workshop "Landfill gas collection and utilization at Ukrainian MSW landfills: first results, problems and perspectives". Workshop was sponsored by Global Methane Initiative Program and the United States Environmental Protection Agency and covered the questions of landfill gas projects preparation and implementation in Ukraine.
