On April 15, the Renewable Energy Agency together with UABIO in the framework of the project “Promoting Energy Security and Sustainable Development of Local Communities in Ukraine”, with the support of the Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine held an online seminar on Promoting Energy Security and Sustainable Local Development communities in the Zaporizhzhia region”.

In total, more than 400 participants joined the seminar through the online platform and live online viewing, including representatives of regional administration of the Zaporizhzhia region and local authorities (Zaporizhzhia, Tokmak, Mariupol, Berdiansk, Melitopol, Pology etc.), civil society organizations, energy and engineering companies, utilities, research institutions, and universities.

The seminar was organized as part of the project “Promoting energy security and sustainable development of local communities in Ukraine”. The goal of the project is to help reduce the dependence of 8 regions of Ukraine on fossil fuels by informing about the possibilities of introducing efficient technologies of affordable renewable energy sources (RES). The project includes a series of workshops on the development of energy independence of local communities based on the Handbook prepared within the framework of the project.
